The 2025 29er World Championship in Porto marked a milestone for Gold Winds Sailing Academy, our biggest event yet in what has been our first official season working with the 29er class.
We were proud to have seven teams from four different countries representing the Gold Winds program on the world stage:
🇸🇪 Henric Wigforss & William Drakenberg – 31st in Gold Fleet
🇸🇪 Selma Hård & Lukas Wolfgang – 34th in Gold Fleet
🇵🇱 Jan Mucharski & Krzysztof Olowiak – 34th in Silver Fleet
🇫🇮 Helmi Vaukonen & Silja Laukkanen – 30th in Bronze Fleet
🇻🇮 Kai Tanguay & Ian Ainger – 38th in Emerald Fleet
🇻🇮 Devon Davis & Serena Sheraw – 45th in Emerald Fleet
🇻🇮 Croix Benton & Atlas Kaough – 47th in Emerald Fleet
Competing against the best youth sailors from all over the world, our riders delivered strong performances in every fleet, showing resilience, commitment, and a clear progression throughout the championship. The challenging wind and wave conditions in Porto tested every skill they’ve worked on this season.
This World Championship was not only our most attended event but also a powerful conclusion to the first season of the Gold Winds 29er Program. It has been incredible to see sailors from Sweden, Poland, Finland, and the U.S. Virgin Islands training, racing, and growing together under the same project.
Now, we move forward with even more motivation to keep building this international community, helping sailors of all nationalities raise their game, and aiming even higher in the seasons to come.
Vamos Gold Winds!
