The 2024 420 World Championship in Urla, Turkey has come to an end, and we are beyond proud to celebrate a historic result from our Gold Winds-connected sailors representing Club Nàutic Arenal.
Neus Fernández Darder & Martina Gomila Darder have been crowned 420 Women’s World Champions, showing incredible consistency and dominance across all 12 races. After a week of intense conditions at the beginning and lighter winds toward the end, they secured the title with an impressive 22-point lead over the second-place team from Greece.
In the U17 division, Amalia Coll (Club Nàutic Arenal), a talented sailor who has taken part in several Gold Winds events, and Laia Mattos (CM San Antonio de la Playa) finished 3rd in the Sub 17 overall and 1st among U17 women.
These results reflect the strength of the new generation coming out of the Balearic Islands and the deep commitment to training, focus, and team culture that defines their approach.
At Gold Winds, we’re proud to follow their progress and to have shared part of their journey. Their victories are an inspiration for all young sailors striving to reach the top.
¡VAMOS GOLD WINDS!
