The 2025 Optimist World Championship, held in Portorož, Slovenia, has come to a close—and we’re proud to highlight the fantastic performance of our Gold Winds rookies:
Jan Palou (RCN Palma) and Juan Lleonart (CN El Balís).
Both sailors were part of the Spanish National Team that claimed the World Title in Team Racing, demonstrating Spain’s dominance and teamwork on the global stage.
Individually, Jan finished 19th overall and Juan secured 21st place in a fleet of the world’s best young Optimist sailors. Their consistency throughout the week and ability to perform in a high-pressure environment is a reflection of their hard work and commitment.
At Gold Winds, we are especially proud of their growth, both as sailors and as individuals. This is just the beginning of a long journey, and these results are an excellent step forward.
